Root Cause

Root Causes

Through extensive research and analysis, we’ve identified a common root cause underlying many of the challenges facing Pakistan in 2023: the lack or inadequacy of human development, known as “Tarbiyat” in the Pakistani context.

Tarbiyat is an Arabic word that means “education” or “training.” It is often used to refer to the process of human development.

In the context of human development, tarbiyat refers to the holistic development of all aspects of a person’s life, including their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, economic, environmental, cultural, and political development.

The Ataleeq Foundation believes that Tarbiyat is essential for human development. We believe that human development should be a lifelong process, and we offer a variety of programs and services that support people at all stages of their lives.

Human Development = Education and Training

We firmly believe that genuine human development is synonymous with education and training. These twin pillars are the cornerstones of prosperous, secure, and just societies.

Education: Education is the process of acquiring knowledge and skills. It is essential for human development because it helps people develop their minds, bodies, and spirits. Education also helps people acquire the skills they need to get a job, start a business, and contribute to society.

Training: Training is the process of acquiring specific skills, mindset, and capacity for a particular job or task. It is also essential for human development because it helps people develop their skills and knowledge in a specific area. Training can be formal, such as attending a vocational school or college, or informal, such as on-the-job training.
